I've finally been able to put some miles(about 750)on my new rear tire.WOW!!! what a difference.up until now,I've just been riding short jaunts. It does handle differently, and takes some getting used to.The bike literally wants to stand up by itself .The twisties require a bit more effort"but it"s minimal.
I"M running a BF Goodrich Traction T/A 205-65-16. No nutcage mod was needed. But i did run into a problem with the tire rubbing on the inside of the fender where the wiring connections are protected by a metal cover. This happened only when riding 2up and only hitting large bumps. This is what i figured out. Since I'm a svelte 288lbs give or take, plus my wife,I'm sure i was over what the bikes shocks are rated. So i looked into new shocks. That did the trick. I purchased a set of Progressive"HEAVY DUTY" shocks from
www.onestopmoto.com ,pt#412-4221C.I paid $209.95 for them which was cheaper than the Progressive site and others. They were easy enough to change out. The ride did stiffen up a bit, but I think I can play with the tire pressure alittle (or maybe the weight).
So, after 750mi ,I'm sold on The Darkside, and won't be returning anytime soon.
Not one problem with the shocks or tire,2up.
That's the truth and I'm sticken to It. ValkerBill
