sorry I've been away soooo long! I had my Harley up for sale, everything was perfect on the bike or so it seemed. I was riding home last fall & I was following about 30 Harley's, strait pipes, speed up & slow down. I couldn't breath from the raw gas fumes. So we hit a strait strech & I drop a gear & pass one of the roughest bunch of dudes I have ever seen. I dont think they liked that due to the responses I was getting.
So I decided to get some distance on them quickly & I spun er up to around 65 mph. By now their around 1 mile behind me & I let off to slow down for a double tight corner. I go to shift down & my heel toe shifter is laying on the foot board!

I can now stop & let those 30 dudes surround me or slow down to 50 mph which is as slow as I can go to recover in top gear without ripping my clutches & crank shaft. I usually take these corners at 30 mph. Well, into the corner I go, the bike is laying down hard, the pipes on the right side are grinding the road & you couldnt get a pin up my ass with a jack hammer! I pull out of that one & bank left for the next one. Same thing again & all the while, Im trying to hold the heel toe shifter from falling off the bike. Now my bike is sounding alot like the legion of doom that is somewhere behind me.

Off I go for another 8 miles. The last 1/4 mile was through the subdivision & into my driveway.
After a beer (ok, a couple) I put the shifter back on, checked the pipes that were now beond repair & test run the bike. Everything seemed o.k. but the clutch was different.
i pulled the bike into the garage & looked the whole thing over. Part of the left pipe had come off & cut my drive belt half way through.
At this point, I put it up on the bike jack & began the 6 hour job of replacing the belt. once I was in tear down mode, I started ordering parts because I will not put anything back together if it needs replacement. New Clutches & discs, all new gaskets, new drive belt, new brakes all around because it's a good idea. New rear disc for the rear brakes because I only had 10 thou left befor I hit minimum thickness, All new oil lines etc. I was very bummed by what I saw when I opened it up that I thought I would never get it up to snuff again.
Now, It's almost done, runs great, clutch feels way better, Brakes are perfect and all the little cosmetic stuff is going back on. I can see light at the end of the tunnel!!!
I feel better now putting it up for sale knowing that the new owner will have a solid bike with receipts to show what was done & I wont get a call from the guy because his new bike is broke down!
So.......... I am now on the hunt once again for a Valk, I just have to sell my Harley in order to buy it!
