probably was not the smartest thing I have ever done, there was ice in lots of places running across the roads and salt on many of the intersections but it did feel pretty darn good.

Next time I do this I must remember to plug in the heated gloves though.

Dag you are the bomb.....and a real bad influence lol.....riding or pushing that bike across the snow.  Good thing its not an interstate you have a 100 lb lighter bike to deal with

Operation "Cold Winter 88"

I was a US Marine and we spent the better part of 2 months moving every day or so and sleeping in snow caves.  No heat.  Very cold for the first two weeks. I actually wondered how I would survive.  After we got aclimated, it wasnt so bad.  Great northern light show.  LONG nights LOL.  I flew in helos (no heat there either) and the country up there was to say the least... Stunning!  Lots of work on the night vision goggles.  It was a very memorable trip and I would love to visit again, and experience that, except for the snow caves. ;)

We moved around alot of the area from Tromso, to Harstad, and Narvic.  Went a bit further north, but I cant remember any of the names.  Just the forest and snow.  I quickly learned not to land my helo on anything that had any sticks poking up from the snow.  It was the top of a small tree.  After a rather large hole in the bottom of my helo, we didnt make that mistake again LOL

I grew up on this island (Haramsoy)
My mother and two of my brothers lives there.
About 80 miles from my home.

I live in Rensvik, close to Kristiansund
Kristiansund consists of 4 islands that are connected with bridges.

Its about:
100 miles from my home to Geiranger

70   miles from my home to Trollstigen

25   miles from my home to The Atlantic Ocean Road

These intersections has been named among Europe's best motorcycle roads.
