I agree with Hoser.  Here in the plains, 20 and under is just keeping the air fresh!  Needs to get 30 and above, and it it breezy. Has to get to 40 or above to worry about it!  And, we are serious!
 Driving semi around the US, it is amazing how little wind there is east of the Miss. river.  Fuel mileage would go up.  If get 20mph wind, radio stations would be giving wind warnings!  We get that much 2 days out of 3!

I guess you never heard of Buffalo.  We are right at the nozzle end of Lake Erie with the prevaling winds barrelling down the 400 mile length of the lake, plus the snow.

I thought the mid West was pretty tame in comparison.

You should see all the wind farms going up around here - I'd hate to be a bird flying though these parts!

I'd be more concerned about the flooding if I was in ND! How are things by you right now? Hopefully you're on highground...

The main flooding is in the east where it is pool table flat.  We are rolling here.  Some localized flooding, but never too bad.
