Can you still use a bike lift/jack with one of these center stands mounted on a Valk?

I imagine you can still jack up the bike using a block of wood.
I've never known a center stand to impede maintenance.
I've seen the rivco in person and was impresed how easy the bike goes up and down.
Great for parking on gravel and maintenance work.

Yep I received a call yesterday from Rivco saying they were going to run a line of center stands and if someone is interested they can call Rivco themselves.    go to www.rivcoproducts.com     and get their phone number, ask for Holly or Stephanie...tell them TAZ sent you from the VOAI.   I know a few folks with them and they really love having it and yes you can use a bike lift, just can't use the home made adapter with it but thats fine it works very well.

Honda Direct Line has them for $450 with free shipping. They also have a 10% off sale going right now.

Other than the Dunflop E3 I don't think you could put anything on a Valkyrie more dangerous than the Rivco center stand . In a left hander it will catch and high side you into the twlight zone . I had one on my bike about 10 miles and took it off before it got me hurt or killed. By the way Holly nolonger works at Rivco and has'nt in sometime unless they hired her back . I was tryin' to deal with them on a few sets of the Cobra shields ...All they do is jerk you around ....All comments are my opinion .

Yea, I checked that out as I had talked to her in December and this person, Guy Hall got back to me and said she left towards end of January to pursue other interest and wanted to know if I had talked to her since.  Sounds like she left in a huff from how he  asked that question.  Too bad I liked working with Holly

As for saying these are killers and should not be put on a bike is a personal view and should not be taken as gospel.  Some folks ride real hard and push the limits on their bike and thus things underneath or on the sides could very well cause problems.  However, a majority of folks do not push the envelope far and have owned these center stands and have never had any near death experiences.  It comes down to what you do with your bike and how wild you get with it. For the majority of riders they will never encounter any such problem what so ever using these center stands so don't be afraid to put one on if you so desire. There are alot of folks in the club for one that have them and love them.  It's a personal decision for convenience and working on your bike.  I myself wish Honda had just put a center stand on from the get go like a Goldwing, they sure come in handy I tell ya.  This is solely my opinion. I agree Taz, he seems to condem the E3 but gives no reason. I find them a very good tire.

Tires are another subject,  it all pertains to what your comfy with, and how you ride so what does not work for one might very well work for others.  It all just comes down to your style of riding and comfort level.  I love Avon tires, others like Metz or Dunlops or whatever, to each their own and what works for them is exactly that, nothing more, nothing less.  Just have to flinch when products are posed as being deadly when they are not and again that is just an opinion so all is well and had been stated.  It is just sometimes people read certain folks post and think that is all fact and will not touch a certain product and that is not the case at all nor should it be.  Just wanted to make sure folks know that, and the newer folks for one as everyone has had their own personal issues good or bad and just want to say their part but don't let it sway you from finding something you are comfy with, as one size does not fit all as the saying goes and holds true.   shocked Shocked tongue

I am sure Joe will explain when he gets back from Texas.  He has related how the E3 on HIS bikes, riden the way HE does, has slid out on him several times, while the other front tires have not.  That is how he has come to that conclusion.  I guess if I had a brand of front tire that about put me down several times, while other brands have not, I would tend to not like that tire brand too.  Joe rides harder than most of us, so he is kind of our test pilot in residence, and I am grateful for that.
He also runs car tires on the rear of his three bikes.  And loves them.  That is why it is hard to take people who have NEVER riden a CT, tell people like Joe that they are no good.  He knows better.
Joe, jump in here and explain it better than me when you get back from HotGlues BBQ!
