my general altimax should be here this week, and I would like to get some tips for easy installation. I am planning to use tire irons, unless anyone has a better idea. I also wonder if I need to worry about balancing, since it is on the rear. any suggestions will be appreciated

I've taken all of my tire changes to the local speed shop. He swaps the tires for $35 each with balance. To me this is money well spent.

My local car tire shop changes mine for $5 when I bring in the wheel. I balance with Dyna Beads. cool

Hello , I install my own , use plastic jug cut up for rim protectors,  , heating tire in the sun helps,
The worst part is breaking the bead on the old tire, finally borrowed a friends manual bead breaker, piece of cake with it,
You may need C clamps to hold sidewall in the narrow part of rim starting out, You need to balance it, I used
tire weights, with the axle on some jackstands , Dynabeads work too, I use dish soap with water to lube rim and bead, I put the tire on 2 4x4s  to protect brake rotor and rim , Have changed 4 DS tires now, the first was the hardest. cool
