John (JR Horton) from the VRCC is head up next month to help me to replace lots of stuff since Im going to pull the seats, pods, airbox and tank, so we are going to replace a lot of the 10 year old rubber once that is open. All that stuff adds up fast $$$$ since Im buying all the OEM hoses and such
Why go OEM? The vacuum hoses can be replaced w/windshield wiper hoses for < $15. Not sure about the fuel lines, etc. but if they're not showing cracking, etc. I'd leave them alone.

I've done the replace the vacuum hose w/a windshield-wiper hose to my 2001 I/S early last year and then took a 15K mile trip and it worked well.

Well John is being nice enough to help me since Im mechically challenged so since Im used to getting hosed by dealers and I have no labor cost.......
I did buy a 50 ft roll of 5/32 hi temp vacuum hose and if I get this done myself, I will probably look into using that if the hoses are not bent or formed.

I am getting better ..I pulled the back wheel off last year and lubed the final drive  since I heard so many horror stories about some dealers not doing this right.
I have pulled the tank and air box before so once that is done the vacuum and fuel lines may be no big deal . John did offer to balance my carbs and Dave is going to look at the needles to see if they can be adjusted, so all in all the VRCC gus are saving me a heap of $ over going to the stealership.

Down the road , I may take the bike to a gent in Westfield NJ who is NOT a dealer and has a DYNO , just to get it setup IF NEEDED

Right now Im recovering from spine surgery and a staff infection /abcess on my spine and if the wife catches me working on the bike , I'll be back in the hospital, LOL

I've recently replaced all my vacuum hoses and fuel lines with the viton-b stuff sold on ebay. It's a lifetime product, won't ever crack from heat or fuel and is very inexpensive. I thought it was a no-brainer. Just a thought, but a very inexpensive and superior alternative to the OEM stuff. Just go to ebay and type in "Valkyrie viton" and all the kits will come up. Good luck there.
