I just put on a Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread 205-60-16HR last Thursday.  I read on the posts to start out at 40 psi to start so I did.  After the first day I was ready to go back to a motorcycle tire.  The next day I reduced the psi to 35 and all of the negative effects just about totally disappeared.  Occasionally I still feel a little difference but nothing bad at all. I am very happy with the CT now after 550 miles.  I am leaving this week from the Kansas City area to the Pacific Northwest pulling a trailer and am very comfortable with having the CT on the old girl.  Very glad to have joined the "Dark Side".

Welcome!

One thing I've noticed with my Michelin Primacy is that it's very sensitive to tire pressure above 34 psi as it'll tend to try and stand the bike up in the corners. It can also vary in pressure by upwards of +/- 4 psi over a riding day - so if you can comfortably run at a lower (cold) pressure, you may have a better overall experience when things get hotter.

Enjoy!

A while back I read somewhere that if your tire pressure rises 10% or more from your cold pressure after the tires have heated up from traveling then they are under inflated as far as the temperature effect on the longevity of the tires goes. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't run with more than a 10% increase just that you are then running with a greater heat build up which is harder on the tires over time. At lower pressures and greater heat build up you will have more grip because the rubber is softer but that inturn creates faster wear. Now if this matters much on our valks is another matter in my mind because of the less over all weight that our tires are dealing with compared to a larger vehicle. I run 40psi in the front (E3) and 32psi in the rear (GA TT). Just food for thought...................

I try to keep my rear CT at or below 34 psi at most. That sometimes results in a cold pressure of 28 psi when it's cold outside, and a 'hot' operating psi of 30 - 31 psi.

If this means a shortened wear life, I'll take it given the longevity I'm anticipating from the tire.

I run 26-28 in my HydroEdge. I have about 12K miles on it now and see no wear yet. Grin

I like 28# solo on my Hydroedge, and 32# two up.  I am thinking about trying 26# solo, like Valker.
