Just dropped my tire pressure to 26#.  OMG.  I love it! Thanks to Valker I went that low.

I have been fighting ruts and such jerking me around at slow speeds.  I have no problems cornering or high speeds.  But, getting out on the gravel to the highway was exciting!

I thought I was at 32#, but when the tech put my new exhaust on, he must have figured that was too low, and bumped it to 38# again.  I fought ruts.  I even got a General Altimax on another wheel to put on.  It has a more rounded profile.  I was about to give up on the Michelin, just because of the 1 1/2 miles to the highway.

Now, I am loving it!  Just a little bump steer.  I am heading to the west coast Sat to take the week long riding course.  I will give you an update about how it is on the trip.

Thought you might like that. I have 14K on mine now and it shows almost no wear.

Well I looked the tire SmokinJoe uses, a Copper Zeon 2XS and the tread pattern looks the almost the same as an Alitmax. He started at 40 psi and now uses 35 psi. He reports better tire wear at 35 psi for him. I dropped mine to 35 and will give it a try. I'm somewhat perplexed on reports by some about jumping all over with ruts in the road. I haven't experienced anything like that and we have plenty of crappy roads in Nova Scotia. Hey if less than 30 psi works thats great.

I might add that I replaced my shock bushings with Gary's polyurethane bushings. I think he makes quality bushings that last.
I'm running an Interstate with stock shocks;
my weight is 175-180;
I ride solo;and
front tire is an Avon Cobra at 42 psi.
