Hi everyone.
Bought a 2000 Standard black Valkyrie 2 weeks ago. 35 K miles. Clean, stock, and in good shape. Really enjoying the bike. Just wanted to say Hello. I live in Locust Fork, Al. Any other Valk owners around here?

I live right up the highway in Ossining NY

When you own a Valkyrie, any destination is just up the road.

Clint and Dag are two recent examples. Clint must have road over 7000 miles and thru the USA this summer and Dag almost that many thru Europe

Check out their posts by just scrolling down the main message board

Sure hope to see ya in Wisconsin next summer for our family ride in

Hi Andy,
I have a similar bike.  1998 Standard Black Valk.  I've owned mine for about 2 years and I think I have 37k miles on mine.  I am in Alabama as well...Huntsville.  I don't know where Locust Fork is...where is that?

Answered my own question...appears to be about 45 mins south of Arab.  Not too far from me.  Sometime, when you want to take a ride, holler at me and we'll meet somewhere in the middle, or for a longer ride, meet somewhere like Florence, or something.  JQ

Don't listen to those folks above! The Valkyrie is a horrible machine! Oh, sure, it's the most beautiful machine on the road, I know, I have one. But soon you'll find that you're restless at night. You'll have difficulty sleeping. Your mind will wander at work and you lose the ability to focus on mundane daily tasks. Then, you'll find yourself making excuses to run to the store, or go over to a friends house, knowing full well that you're not going to those places. You have became addicted to the sound of 6 cylinders, the feel of rapid acceleration, and the thrill of tight curves.

Don't worry, there is hope. There is a 3 step program that will heal you of this terrible addiction.
1) Provide me with your address.
2) I'll come to your home
3) I will remove the Valkyrie permanently from your residence.
Yes, it's a very painful process, especially that third step, but you'll get your friends back, and you'll keep your job.
PS, as part of the process above a title transfer is required and continuation of payments if any.

Thanks and let me know if I can be of service. Evil Grin

PSS, all kidding aside, welcome to the family. It's been half the fun of owning this wonderful machine to me.

Don't forget he is probably down there where he has to ride year around. Never gets the chance to just sit in the garage and stare at it like we do here in Il. This intervention is going to be a tough one. Welcome aboard and enjoy the ride.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm 49 and been riding off and on since I was 9. Back into cruisers for the past 6 years. After much research decided I needed a Valkyrie. Too fast to be a called a common cruiser. I call it my "Cruise Missile".
