Hi all,
have any of you improved on the stock braking system...I'm about to change my cables to HEL clutch & brake cables.. when i got to thinking what about the actual caliper's..is there any better or is OEM's the best.. thoughts, idea's, links, picture's..would help me decide as my wife said this will be my last bike.. we will see about that..i might be 58 but i ain't ran out of gas yet... i have been thinking (when my claim gets resolved) that i might get a interstate or one thats been triked..that should keep her happy ......

my wife said this will be my last bike..

The thing that's neat about these bikes is that they're kinda like my Great great grandfather's hatchet-  I STILL have his hatchet!  I've changed the head a few times and I've changed the handle a few times, but I tell my wife it's still the same Valkyrie she let me buy 10 years ago!  Grin Grin Grin

I don't think there is any need at all to switch out your braking system.  It was one of the first things they mentioned in Motorycle Consumer News and other mags when it came out how outstanding they are for a big bike and all of us  think the same.  I have had mine now for 11 years and have changed the pads twice over the 86k I have on mine, changed the fluid every 2 years and they work as good as new.  They have great stopping power.  I did add the steel cables which increased the stopping power abit more but other than that all stock. I would invest in other things and leave them the way they are.

Have been in contact with them.. apparently they only do bulk orders.. putting a company called Opie Oils in contact with me as they cater for the smaller order.. just waiting for them to call.. These brakes work as well as the Brembos did on my BMW.
