Hi,
Has anyone tried to convert a Standard into a Interstate.. Yeah i know just buy one.. well i cant find one.. let alone one for sale in England UK... also I'm thinking about maybe importing one.. still looking into that & what i need to do once its in this country..But i digress.. curious to know if it has been done before.. as i thinking about stripping her down.. to check her out (mainly for peace of mind) then ahh to create a thing of beauty.. or just sale her and buy an Interstate.. School is out on that at the moment......

might be cheaper to buy one here and ship it over...the parts to convert are very pricey.

I believe Kingbee has done it.  It is quite a job.  Std are pretty manual, IS's are electronic.  So, a lot to do.  Mechanically not too bad, but electronically?
As TAZ said, I would think better to buy, IS and sell the std.  IMHO

             Hi,
Not completely made up my mind yet..(keeps changing) i have a the moment got the Honda line OEM touring screen & 4.5 risers.. both to be fitted.. also waiting for some interstate rear shocks to arrive.. there is a couple of bit's on the bike at the mo.. but they might not be on when i start to change it... i would like to get hold of (when the funds become available)..an interstate gas tank.. interstate rear top box.. panniers.. belly tank.. Russell day long seat..motosens gages..stainless cables..spot lights.. to start with.. then a few more chrome bits..as you already know it never ending..so i expect i will find something else.. exhaust system who knows.. or might just sell her and import a interstate!!!! or i might just improve a few bit's & get an interstate.. school's still out... huh

You can convert that way, and all is good.  It is just if you want to go with the IS fairing that you start running into all the electronic stuff that is hard.

I have IS tank, IS saddlebags, a non OEM trunk, all painted to match the OEM purple/white.

I resemble that remark, TrickyD!
Thank you.

Recall:  Go to the Gallery section.  Look under my name, MP.  There are several pics of my 97 there with the IS tank, IS bags, and the aftermarket trunk.  See if the look is something you want, or would prefer a regular IS.

I would post pics, but I am not sure how to post here from the gallery?
