TAZ and others,
This may not be the best time to bring this up again for a ride in Prairie du Chien area seeing as how Nitro is without a bike for now and TrickyD's family, but any idea if we might get a ride-in sometime in April or am I jumping the gun a little yet? I was at PDC on Friday and the mighty mississipp is pretty high right now with some flooding in areas, but not over the roads or anything. The water is like chocolate milk and might want to wait at least a few more weeks or more for the water to clear up a bit. I think I saw the Holiday Shores in the small IA town down south past the gambling boat along the tracks - is it the motel right along the banks of the river by the kwik trip gas station? If so, they were on the roof fixing it up and still looks like needs a coat of paint on the outside to spruce it up a little. Maybe bring this up again later in April and see how others are doing? Would be a nice all day ride to put some much needed miles on the bike, although late April I will be unable to attend for a few weeks since scheduled outpatient knee surgery last week in April - bummer.

OK, it's over a month since this thread was started and I have an Interstate to break in-- when are we getting together for some riding??
Right now I'm open for most of the first three weekends in May, how about the rest of you Midwesterners?
I'm looking forward to catching up with everybody and enjoying this gorgeous spring weather!

As of now, I hope to be back in the saddle with new tires finally the 2nd or 3rd weekend in May for a long ride around Prairie du Chien area into Iowa and get one of those 1/2 lb. Gunderburgers at the Irish Shanti, not that I need it or anything. Maybe even see some new sights in the area only 2 hours away? Let's hope no rain those 2 weekends.

TrickyD, are you doing this WI dells ride this early weekend in May or would you prefer to put some real miles on your bike like TAZ originally suggested and heading over to Prairie du Chien? I'd prefer PDC in early May if we can get together and agree on a weekend in early May. That Gunderburger sounds mighty tempting after my outpatient knee surgery this morning. I'm a little sore and will be on crutches a few days to help walk, but should be able to ride in 1-2 weeks from now hopefully. Dr. smoothed out my rough and torn knee miniscus and told my wife how in the world did I walk, etc. on my knee since he said it was torn more so than he thought it would be. I guess I am either tough or just silly for letting it go 10 months without doing anything?

Yes hopefully soon we will get that ride going. I would like to wait till TrickyD is able to go so he can get out with us and take some stress off. Right now his family is doing the daily visits to see his Dad in LaCrosse at the Care Center. So lets give it couple more weeks and see what's up then.
Thanks for your patience!

Sounds good. Hopefully things are going as well as possible with them.

Really want to get on the bike SOON, however DAD is first priority right now! Signed up for Hospice care today so that next week they can start taking some daytime hours so the 24/7 watch can be temporaily put aside for now. In 7 days he turns 87, might be unaware of it but something deepdown is in spite of kidney shutdown, no food or fluids. Wish the good Lord above would re-unite him with Mom in the next life, soon!
