haven't used this but may be getting one later this summer
"www.kisantech.com"
looks like self cancelling plus brake/turn on the rear signals
at $109 or so I have to think a bit. Have heard it is a good product.

I've spent hours researching this, the problem is the switch still needs to be reset before you use it again.
So you might as well learn to shut it off every use or change your switch to I dont know what.  Theres a thread here
or on VRCC that tells about the Kisan switch.  Basically the Valkyrie blinker switch doesnt self return.

Easy and cheap (that's my style) fix is to hook up a $3 Radio Shack Piezo beeper to the turn signal flasher 'idiot light' in the headlight. It will beep every time the light flashes.

Good idea, but if you have an I/S and have the tunes cranked like I usually do or very loud aftermarket exhaust, the beeper probably wouldn't be heard I would imagine.  I too sometimes forget to turn the signals off after using them, but soon remember afterwards when I look down at the dash area.

I use this to help me remember:

It's a hoot when the mechanic takes it for a ride and doesn't know the little device is there.  Grin

What color wires do you splice into, in the headlight? Also, do you need two buzzers, one for the left turn light and one for the right turn light or just one? I ride an I/S would I still find the correct wires in the headlight or are they located somewhere else on the bike?

That blinker buddy is a great idea.  Chets page shows how to wire what he calls buzzers but they are actually beepers and they wire up easy

http://www.rattlebars.com/mtz/buzzer.html

But I cant hear mine over about 40 mph.  The actual buzzer might be a better option and less annoying at stoplights!  I believe Radio Shack sells those buzzers and I'm sure you could wire them up like the beeper.  I've seen people put the buzzer in their seat but I didnt want to cut my Mustang.
Either way the vibration would be easy to detect and usable at any speed.

Not sure on the I'State, but just find the light that flashes to let you know the signals are going and tap into that. On the Tourer it is just one light on top of the headlight shell.

On the IS there are two turn signal indicators (left and right). The wiring diagram shows an orange wire for the left turn indicator and a light blue wire for the right. You'd have to tie into each signal, but there's no reason that you would need more than one piezo or seat vibrator. I couldn't tell you where to tie into them, but I'm sure someone else here has tapped those wires before.

This is brilliant.  I used to have a Honda 750 back in the old days and it came from the factory with one of these.  I was surprised to be riding modern-day machines that didn't have them (or self-cancelling turn signals)!  What the heck!  I'm going to go get one of these tomorrow at Radio Shack and get it installed!   Thanks Valker!
