I know this will be old news to most of you but here goes. Tonight I stopped at Radio Shack to pick up a Standing Wave Meter to trim my CB antenna. They didn't have one in the the store and the clerk said he couldn't find one on their website. But I did pick up a 3' cable to allow me to connect my iPod into the Interstate's audio system. This is so awesome! Now I can listen to whatever I want to instead of trying to find a radio station. It's amazing really that over 10 ears ago when the Interstate was in the design stage, Honda saw fit to include the standard iPod connection. IMHO, the Honda Valkyrie continues to be one of the best bargains in the used motorcycle market.

All the best,

Mark

Be sure to run the wire down the right side ( brake side ) if not it will tick back through the speakers from the coil and alternator....Be there , Done that  cool

Smokin Joe, thanks for the right side tip I ran mine on the other side and quit using it due to the tick/feedback, will reroute this evening.  Is there a link or directions as to the best way to route the cable?

I ran mine up the right side and just zip-tied it in place. I tried to make it the shortest distance possible and haven't had any problems with that route.

There's a pile of cables that run along the upper right frame rail - you can run your wire there.

I ran my 6 disc CD player and mp3 player AUX 6' cable (only needed 3') from my right side cover plug in underneath the tank up close to the top of the rear of the gas tank and zip tied them to the other cables underneath then ran the cables to my left side underneath tank up close to the tank to the top of my iron horse tank bib and no ticking noise heard at all.  Maybe the cables for the CD player and mp3 player were not close enough to the alternator, etc. to matter since very close to the back of the tank running up the tank on the left side and not ran far enough forward or downward?  Good to know though.

Thanks for all the input.  I installed a K&N filter last Thursday and rerouted the cable while I had the tank off.  Pure listening pleasure now:)
