You probably wouldn't want to buy a bike from a guy like that anyway. If he can't even keep a meeting time with you, who knows what kind of maintenance he might have done?

Very true.  In the back of my mind,  I just hope he is ok.  We live we learn. 
There is a listing vor another valk that im pretty hot on that I saw this morning.  Might be making another trip up north this weekend!

If these people are committed to selling their rides, seems like they would be interested in at least sharing the trip, i.e.. meeting in the middle.  To me, that would show that they're serious about it.  As I think about it now, though, that sounds like what you had worked out with Mr. NoShow.  Oh well....

Hi and Welcome! I work in Boston and live on the North Shore. I fell in love with the Valk right away and have been riding on of the originals (97 Std) ever since. It is still the best cruiser out there. You will be very happy I am sure. Good luck with the search! You will find many helpful people on this board just ask. Be happy to get together for a ride once you are settled on your new bike. Keep us posted we love newbies LOL!

I actually was meeting him 1/2 way. That was the problem, I met him 1/2 way and he didn't!  Oh well.  No bigs. Hi Paul, I live in Lawrence and (currently) work in Gloucester.  Almost the opposite of you.  Do you have any bike shops around that you like to work with? I have been to 128 a bunch of times, but I dont think I would buy anything there.  Im not really a fan of their sales people.  I have done alot (including buying 2 bikes) from N. Reading motor sports.  Fred and Fred are very nice and helpful guys there.

So I am not that far from you in Beverly. I understand about 128, since they are so close to me I have bought both my bikes there and not been impressed with the sales staff either time, but I did get 500 off on the Valk, but they did not know much about what they are selling IMHO. However I have used the service dept (Dave and Frank) for almost all my service for the last 20+ yrs and they are not cheap but have been there when I needed something done. Especially they were great after my Gloucester crash picking up the bike from the tow lot and storing it for free for the couple of months it took to get me back on my feet (busted ankle; painful but not serious) and then fixing it up as good as new. I have often brought in parts I got on the internet (including tires) and they installed them without any problem.

P.S. BTW Oss I haven't been the NE rep in years LOL. Been Eastern VP for last 7(?) years. Get with the times buddy! Sometime you will have to venture into NE and let me show you around. Let me return some of that great hospitality you showed me last year!

Thats good to know about bringing in internet tires there.  I like going there because of the inventory and do like the parts dept there.  They delivered a F4i to an old buddy of mine he bought there used and when it got to his house, it didnt start.  I would think thats one of those things they would have checked before delivering a bike! 
Once im up and running, I will for sure be riding all over the place
