I have read a lot about the various merits of 6 into 6 pipes and rejetting and some actually end up robbing power, etc.

I would love to get the definitive word from someone who really knows which of the various manufacturers makes the best 6 into 6 pipe sets based on quality of materials which includes resistance to bluing, ease of installation, and finally best outcome in terms of sound and performance without rejetting and if rejetting is required do they provide the parts and instructions for doing so properly.

Right now I am only aware of Two Brothers which I like the turn out tips on and Cobra which seems to be the most popular by far but also have lots of complaints from bluing to loss of power.

Perhaps one of the REAL pros would stand up and enlighten me once and for all.

i put the two brothers on my 98 standard, got about 2000 miles on them no blueing yet,and no loss in power.i also have a six degree trigger wheel and k&n filter, put on dyno got 106 hp out of her.also getting about 42 mpg when riding her nice, two brothers is the only six into six that claims no loss no gain. GOOD LUCK.

I went with the Cobra's way back when and lost 9 HP per the same dyno.

Then I tried the Super Trapps, gained HP with these but got the bottom of my bags all oily, smudged and etc since they exit right at the axle.   Didn't like removing bags to clean the bottoms.

Then I went with the glass paks, my own version and very similar to the MarkT originals.  Use 3 paks, cut the ends off of one pack and weld these ends over the header of the original pipes, slip 1 muffler over the cut off welded nipple, clamp it and ready to go.

This way you end up with a double wall header and don't get any bluing.  I still have my original HP gain and over 150,000 + miles on them.  Will probably replace the glass paks sometime in the near future.  Don't really think I need to but I suspect they are more than burned out, the packing that is......

I've done cobra 6-6 sound great but robbs power at 80 mph range...I did the http://www.horseapple ranch modification....
I did the stage one power kit and air filter from k/n found this to be worth-wile with the glass pack mofidication...I used a 30 inch glass pack, with a 36 in truck stack at 3.5 inchs ...can't explain it but the thing rocks out 70 to 100 acceleration is awsome... wasen't with the cobras....this year I took the recomended adjustment of clip 3 position and sofened it to clip 2 position and power hasen't changed fuel milage is up...who new....all this stuff is trial and error and right now  I am rocking out and the plus side.... my 2 cents worth ....jeff gartside towman85@aol.com out for now.........

vman..just my opinion.  had cobras on my 97,  had irritating noise at about 65-70.  did the conversion with glasspacks, sounded good,  got the 2 brothers 6x6 liked it the best.  best sound, look real good especially the way they turn out.  my brother now has the bike and loves them also.    larry

Thanks for the feedback. I too like the looks of the Two Brothers pipe set and I like the more high pitched sound that the 6 into 6 pipe sets make as opposed to a deep throat rumble that a 6 into 2 gives you. I've had a Harley with open headers and been through that phase. I like the Ferrari type sound better
