I have a Tourmaster "T" bag on the rear of my standard.   I'm finding that its way overkill for day to day use, and it kills the clean looks of my bike.   Its great for longer trips, holds a ton of stuff.   I want something smaller, it just needs to hold a pair of warm gloves, a helmet shield change, a jacket liner, etc for my ride home from work in the dark mornings.   Yes, I work a night shift.    I bought a Nelson-Rigg roll bag and really tried to like it.  I just could not find a good way to mount it that it would stay in place and look good.   It was sent back to New Enough.   That was too bad, I really like Nelson-Rigg stuff.   I have a pair of thier saddlebags on my KLR 650 that I like alot.   So, I'm back a square one, looking at bags online till my eyes want to explode!   I could use some help here.   The one I'm looking at now is the Saddlemen R1300XLE, anyone have one?   Or any smaller bag that would fit on the stock rack?   It doesn't even have to be a roll bag, I just dont want one much taller than the top of my sissy bar.  Also, I have a Mustang wider rear backrest on the way, so it need to attach around that as well.   I'm not set on any one bag for now, I am open to suggestions.  Pictures of a bag on your bikes would help too.   Thanks all.

I use the DOWCO Iron Rider bags:  http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/43/146/MANFDEPTALL/Dowco-Luggage.aspx
I have the overnighter, the large bag and the small roll bag.  Can stack all three together, or just take one for day trips, or two for a weekend trip with the wife.  I have a Standard and it fits the rack great!  I can add pics later when I'm at home.

I used the same set when I had my Standard, but I recently sold them. I had the main bag, large roll bag, small roll bag, and overnight bag. They are well made, incredibly versatile, and quick to put on and take off.

Main bag and large roll bag (my wife and I lived out of these two for a week-- they fit LOTS of stuff in them):

Nitro posted some good pics, but I'll add one of my own.  This is the large roll bag, which I used with the main bag while I was camping for two weeks in Colorado.  Used the roll bag for day trips to hold maps, camera, cool weather gear, etc.  Worked really well, all the bags attach very securely and are well made.

The best part (well, maybe second best part) is that they're made by DowCo in WI!

Hi BigChriss - I know you PMd me for pics of my rack bag, so I thought I would just show them here. I had been looking for a knicknack case for day rides to hold cell phone/map/couple rags/mbe hot weather gloves. So I just kept an eye out around and looked at camera cases and some CD case stuff. I stumbled into a padded CD case I thought would work at Office Depot some years back and mounted using the stock acorn nuts and fender washers. -- I've been runnin it for 6 - 7 years. Its a handy little dude.  -- Probly could stand to get a new one.  Enjoy thje pics.

Looks good!  Thanks for the pictures...sorry it took a few days to say thanks, I live in Southern California and we have been getting hit pretty hard with rain for the last week and a half. Lot of mudslides, flooding and property damage. Right before Christmas too. Not good. Anyway, thanks again, I'll look for a small bag like that.
