I fired the Valkyrie up this weekend to go for a ride, and noticed a heavy drip of gas coming out of the carbs.
Further investigation revealed it to be the T tube that connects the 2nd, and 3rd carbs (from the front) where fuel comes in from the tank.
It is on the right side, but each side mirrors the other.
I surmised there are O-rings in there, and confirmed it with a search through the archives here.
What I need to know is there a reasonable way to replace the oring???
Is there a link to the procedure, I already have the tank, and filter box off.
I could not find anything searching the archives here about the procedure.
I have not posted anything here in a long, long time, but see a few familiar names here.
I have had my Valkyrie for about 5 years, and this is the first time I have had to do anything other than normal maintenance.

I did some searching too but couldn't find anything on a procedure for this. Hope you were able to find something... Good luck! Did you search in the Honda Service Manual? Everything you need to know is in Section 5. |

really, I guess it isn't written in crayon.... Seriously, refer to Section 5. You have to split the carb bank to do this and the steps are all there (see p. 5-16). Redeyetech on ebay sells the whole o-ring kit and this would be a good time to replace everything, thoroughly clean the carbs, and replace any vacuum lines. If it is done right, this should last you another 10 or 12 years..... If you find a shortcut, post it here....I'm sure there are others that will appreciate the heads-up. He obviously has some mechanical skills since the tank and airbox are already removed. Take your time and all will go well, but invest in the Honda Service Manual... |

Prdmr, Had the same problem with my 96 a few weeks ago. Nothing much to it carbs off and split them, take the T pieces out and replace the brittle O rings, then all back together again. Replace the intake runner O rings whilst you are at it. The Honda manual is available as a pdf download from the VRCC Norway site here in the technical section the link is on the left. |

Yep, That's my boyeeee. 140 lbs of Dane Very cool! How did you get him up there?? We have two Danes of our own: Daisy is the black one and Pinky is using the laptop in the background.  |

We have two Danes of our own: Daisy is the black one and Pinky is using the laptop in the background.
I do dog training, and RD is my one mans junk is another mans treasure dog. He happily does pretty much anything I ask him to do. It is almost weird. He is a project dog I got under the agreement fix him, or put him down. Now he is my favorite dog ever, he does protection, K9 Agility, tracking, of course obedience, and some other stuff. Gotta love these Danes, I have two, and a Mali-Dane (Malinois/Dane mix) imagine the worlds largest Malinois. Nice looking pair of Danes you have there, Daisy, and Pinky, good names, love that spot over the eye, and speckled nose |
