I don't think that the Valkyrie is dead.  You don't put a project like the Rune into play without a followup with something to appeal to the general joe.  I've heard rumors as I suppose all that you have, that a more practical Valk based upon the 1800 platform will eventually come.

On another note, back in Novemeber I posted solicitations on my thoughts about moving to an 1800 Goldwing from my Interstate.  Well, I took the plung and acquired a pristine 2002 Wing, pre vin Frame Weld.  Beautiful bike and fantastic performance.  Someone had posted a reply to my thread that for taller people, the Wing is HHmm, well uh, not as comfortable....I am only 6'1 and have to now concur with that observation...but I intend to adapt.  Thanks for everyones thoughts and opinions.

As to My Interstate,  Its time to unbridle her into someone elses loving embrace.  (But I am keeping the tourer)...  Faithful Interstate..I commend you to the Valkyries of Lore...Come take her swiftly and sweetly to Valhalla.

Congrats on the aquisition of the Wing, I'm sure that you'll love it. I was the one who mentioned it not being built for tall people; I am 6'4". I'm sure that modifications can certainly be made, (probably the first would be the seat), at least for people my size.
I'm sure that there are plenty of takers for your I/S. They are one sweet bike, I have certainly loved the 2 that I have had.
If you haven't posted it on the classifieds on this website, you might want to give it a shot.
Take care, and enjoy the new Wing.
