And the verdict is......the Valkyrie is much larger. Greetings! I bought this 1999 Valkyrie almost two weeks ago but was only able to ride it home from the shop last Thursday in a tiny window of decent winter weather. Now I just have to figure out how to get the Valkyrie, Triumph, my wife's V-Rod....and a Honda Civic into a one-car garage, believe it or not, it's possible with a little creative positioning of things.

It's an optical illusion; her butt just looks bigger in yellow Nice Triumph too. I'm a fan of British bikes, got started on a BSA, and own a '75 Norton Commando 850 electric start which is being restored, slowly but surely. Welcome aboard!

How come the wife has the fastest and probably the most expensive toy, a V-rod? She is one lucky women! Nice scenery you have out there in SD. Went there 2-3 years ago on vacation and loved the badlands, custer state park, the 2 caves, devils tower (in Wyoming), etc. etc. I hear yah on the garage space. My standard 2 car 20x24' garage has a full size truck, small sedan, 2 snowblowers, ATV, and the Valk I/S inside with no room to spare. Yes, a little shifting of items and you can fit them inside, but the wife will not drive my truck in and out of the garage with inches, not feet, to spare. Unfortunately, my 2 other ATV's have to sit outside on the trailer all winter. Once the kids move out in about another 10 years, the 15' trampoline is going to be gone and a nice sized garage is going outback in it's place even though it is going to look odd having 2 garages next to one another in a small sized city lot. At least it will cut down on the mowing!

How come the wife has the fastest and probably the most expensive toy, a V-rod? She is one lucky women! She's 5'4" and wanted a bike that was both low in the seat and had enough power to get out of it's own way, 'features' that seem to be mutually exclusive. The funny part is that she dislikes Harley-Davidsons with something bordering on passion, and has refused to have anything to do with them......up till now (she bought the V-Rod about three weeks ago) that is. The irony of it all is quite amusing, especially to me because she told me long ago that as long as we're together, there are two things I cannot have, one is a banjo, and the other is a Harley. All bets are off now though....she was getting pretty worried when I started to shop for a 2004-2005 Sportster Roadster so she was probably quite relieved when I found the Valkyrie. I think the V-Rod is her eleventh motorcycle, the Valkyrie is probably my 44th.

Hope the V-rod makes her happy since the Valk should make you giggle from ear to ear! It already has, and I've only been able to ride it 15 miles so far (because of the lousy weather recently). It's a replacement for the 2009 Kawasaki Concours that is now being sold in the same MC consignment shop that I bought the Valkyrie at. I get the feeling that I should have bought one of these machines years ago....I've always wanted the Gold Wing engine in something that didn't have all the 'other stuff' that's attached to it. Gold Wing 'Lite'....and I'm a sucker for the yellow ones....from way back......

I'm thinking that once you ride your Valkyrie for awhile, you'll forget all about not owning one of the old four cylinder Goldwing standards. Mine makes me smile every time I see it, and ride it. Enjoy.

Congratulations on that beautiful yellow/cream Valkyrie. Now go ahead and bring home a banjo, you know you want to. Mark
