Just noticed today that my right hand side panel is loose in my Interstate. It appears the clip on frame part where the tab connects has broken off. Any ideas how to secure this better. I am afraid it will fall off and I don't think they are that easy to find a replacement.

The same thing happened on my IS before I bought it. The guy I bought it from last spring drilled a small hole in the center and side cover and used a zip tie to hold that end in place. It isn't the best solution, but it works well and you don't notice it unless it's pointed out. Any time I want to take that cover off, however, I need to cut the tie and use a new one to put it back in place.
I also noticed that the guy tried to glue the tab in place, but this didn't work. Somebody here might have a better idea...

Velcro is your friend, easy to replace once in a while when it wears out, look in the sewing department, has peel off adhesive on one side. Hoser

I used a staple and some epoxy on mine and that worked great. Lasted over 80,000 so far...

Plastic Weld will work it will glue your broken tab back on or if it's gone you can build it up with Plastic Weld and sand it to the shape of the tab.
You can buy it at any Auto store or Fleet Farm. It is a 2 part epoxy.

Thanks Jack, The tab on the frame is gone. I not even notice it till today when I was changing the oil. I notice it was loose. I am not that crafty to do it your way. I may have to just do the velcro thing.

Just to clarify, the problem I have is with the tab in the center cover, NOT the side cover. The side cover tabs are still intact.

Jim if you can't do it any body shop can or Cycle repair shop. Before I heard about plastic weld I had a MC shop fix a tab and they charged me $5
