I know I know this subject was brought up and wrote about [cuz i read it somewhere on here and forgot]..but save me from going thru the whole site for my answer on the rear fender strut bolts
so i removed my left side saddle bag for a minor repair   in doing this you have to remove the 2 bolts that holds[and in my book to many things the saddlebag the strut and the fender] I would have designed this differently lol [like a dif bolt setup]
anyway whats the tip/trick of getting them back in?   the bolts came right out but getting them back in OMG  takes 2 men and at least one brain lol

Do you have the HondaLine hardbags? If so, there are 4 bolts that attach the bags to the brackets. They are a 3 minute job to remove and replace. If not those bags, sorry, can't help you.

I have had them out a number of times.  Have you loosened the front two bolts?  Do so, to allow movement.  Then, use a punch or other alignment tool to line up the pieces.  It can be a pain, but certainly not more than a few minutes.  If you do not loosen the front bolt, then it can be harder to align.

Get a football and let some air out of it.  Stick it between the fender and the tire, then inflate the ball.  It pushes everything up and out, so the holes line up.  Deflate the ball remove it.  Done!
